Think tanks are catalysts for new ideas, analysis and action in international affairs. Today, the Institute for Economics and Peace (the brains behind Vision of Humanity and the Global Peace Index) has been included on the 2014 Global Go To Think Tank Index.
This recognition is significant for the Institute, as it is a reflection of the uptake, use and impact of their research related to peace metrics, peace economics, country risk analysis and positive peace.
It is a big win not just for us, but for the broader research community and all those working in the field of peace research.
This year, the Institute for Economics and Peace received recognition in the following three categories.
1. Top Think Tanks with Annual Operating Budgets of Less Than $5 Million USD
2. Think Tank to Watch
3. Best Institutional Collaboration Involving Two or More Think Tanks
The Global Go To Think Tank Index ranks over 6,500 think tanks using a set of 18 criteria. The Index uses an international survey of around 1,900 scholars, donors, policy makers and journalists to rank countries according to various criteria.

One of the core aims of the Institute for Economics and Peace is to “shift the way the world thinks about peace and to show that it is a positive and achievable measure of human well-being and development”. While this is an ambitious goal, it is one that we have been steadily working towards over the last seven years.
Over the last few years we feel we’ve made leaps and bounds towards achieving this goal both in terms of the research we are producing and the impact and influence of this research across the world. Read a few of the highlights from 2014 here.
As we look forward to embracing new challenges and opportunities next year, we want to take a moment to share some of the key milestones we've hit this year and to thank you for your ongoing support.
